Day 4 surfing...fun waves, just had to wait for 'em. Stayed out there for two solid hours. Starting to feel in shape for surfing again. It really is a great upper body workout.
Shoulders, biceps, triceps, back, obliques are all dead tired.

Day 5 surfing. Pretty much going out every day before work. Tired today and I took out the shorter board so I had to put more work into everything. Longboarding is just way more casual and fun for me, but I need to challenge myself to get used to smaller boards because you can do a lot more.
Took a nap on the beach yesterday because I needed a break from work. Got unevenly sunburned and it hurts to sleep. At least I won't be pasty white from living in the mountains for a year anymore. Plus the wetsuit neck tan is the stupidest looking thing.

New longboard deck and trucks (Bombsquad Dragula and Caliber 50s) arrived today. It's time to grow a pair and learn how to slide so I expect this summer to be a bloody and scabby one.

^^can't even think of bombing hills on a skateboard anymore. That shit is brutal when you fall. Nurses having to clean the wounds by picking at them to get gravel out. Makes me cringe.
That's my take after this happened
Knocked myself out and when I came to I didn't realize how bad it was until I touched my hand to my face and my whole hand was red.

Well to be perfectly honest I doubt any skating that I'll be doing would be considered "bombing" as such. I just want to learn some basic slides to be able to stop in a hurry if need be.

the bear that lives near my dad's has been out and about lately. today as i was killing time at his house before work, i watched her for about 45 minutes as she sat in the woods next to the road, chewing on a deer leg and its hide. plump little lady. i was around 40ft away for these.

Camped for 4.5 days over the holiday weekend. My phone died before I got pics of the complete camp site but here it is when we were maybe a third done with it. There's a river to the right...

Had some nice weather the other day, so decided to head down to the glacier at the end of the day. gotta love alaska on a nice day.

Headed to the hills to a meadow we hadn't been to before. had a fun ridgeline walk with the dog pack. Still some snow patches at 5k feet elevation. Dogs had a lot of fun playing in the snow, I'll try to post a video of them later.

First weekend with a surfboard and I have never seen the ocean so flat and calm. I think getting in to surfing will only make me wish I lived elsewhere even more now. Of course conditions look good late this week/weekend but I cannot go.

in the past week i have flown from Juneau, Ak, to Allentown, PA. my second home, over the past few days ive gone cliff jumping, off a rope swing, and to my friends lake house for a few days.

mid-high 80's today.. hottest day of the summer and about as hot as it ever gets in juneau. went for a bike ride along the treadwell mine ruins with jerms, noe, and aly. swampnuts.
the shore along the entire site of the mine is made of tailings, hence the small sandy grains and color. almost all of the rest of our beaches in southest are rocky.
