So, my slx's just started leaking. sucks so hard. Looks like the vibram sole is leaking as when I put them in a bucket of water the spot right in the middle of the ball of the foot starts getting wet (from the sole). Can't warranty them because they are warrantees from 2 years ago, but I only started wearing them this year. Only 35 days in them. I'm going to send them in to B to see if they can repair them.
So lame since the Ions I had before these leaked too.
I think water gets in from the base of the tongue too. Anybody else get this? It's alright during winter but in the warmer temps the slush just seeps through.
Maybe I should just grab another pair of boots off dogfunk since shit is 50% off right now (not burton though)

oh yeah?
I've been in Burton's for 11 years... so how's the fit between 32's and Burton? I'm a 10 in B and have all medium bindings, so I appreciate the shrink tech. Anything like that on the 32's? There isn't anything listed on the descriptions -

pretty similar IMO.
I rode 9's in lashed and 9's in sabbath and some others, I just liked the 32 fit more. Superfeet liners helped a lot. Got more days out of my 32's as well.
I hate to say it, but if 200 is your price range, solsticesupply.com, buy some Nikes. Still the best boots I've ridden, and won't go back to the B or 32's. -

I had some '10 Ions that got a leak after about 12 days. Fortunetely they warrantied them.
The Imperial and Lashed are pretty different boots from what I can tell. What fits you best of the two?

Jon used 32s boots for years and he swears they are called 32s because that is how many days they last...

I thought Vibram used to have a life time warranty. If that's still the case then you should be covered.

But I also very much think they are very good boots until they break down.

well, I have a pair of 32 lashed on the way now. Looking forward to boots that don't leak!
Looking in my shoe closet, I have 2 pairs of ions and a pair of slx's and all of them leaked. The ions after 90 days and the slx's after 35-40. -

My JJ's started leaking super bad at the end of last season. I did not have that many days on them...maybe 30-40. B said that they do not claim that their boots are water proof and therefore leakage was not covered by warranty...but they sent me new boots anyway.
I swore by B boots until I got my Kaiju's They are almost the exact same footprint as my JJs. And were the easiest boots I have ever broken in.

are you sure they were "leaking". in spring slush my feet are soaked by sweat and probably 'leaking" in every pair of boots i have ever owned in alomost 30 years of riding

Maybe stop putting your boots in buckets of water? (I'm a genius)

yep. the other day I pulled out my liners after the first run and it was wet under the foot already. Before that, I had slowly put them in a bucket of water (obviously just the base, and the toes, testing each part). On my Ions there was a big leak in the heel, which I shoe goo'd, but the toes still leak. I shoe goo'd the sole a bunch, so we'll see tomorrow. I thought it might be slush coming in from the tongue, but that wasn't it.
It's def not sweat as it's just too wet.
On the slx's the leak is from the vibram soles right under the ball of the foot. When I pick them up from the store I'll shoe goo them too and see. -

i ran into that same problem with my 2006 sabbaths after about 60 days....i hosed them down with some kiwi waterproofing spray and that did the job oddly enough it also improved the look and feel of the suede greatly!....in my experience it seems that leakage usually comes from the place where the midsole meets the upper....probably due to the fact that the glue used to attach the different parts is water-based so after prolonged exposure it just breaks down.
