I dont know why but I've almost convinced myself I want a midlife.
When I tried a friends flat board a few seasons ago, I wasnt really into it. It was either camber or fk for me but not in between.
But I lust for matte black boards. And the shape of the midlife seems perfect.
I may be mistaken but if I remember correctly the Midlife is gloss black not matte.
hmm... you're right! The product/catalog shots look matte.
But I found one pic from SIA and it does look glossy.

THREE. BSOD, Ultrafear AND DOA. Charlie did win the Give You Wood award though.
And give me wood it does! Good show Capita.
I'm definately going to be getting a new board this year and I'm having a hard time deciding what Capita I should get. I'm 5'3 120 pounds and live on the east coast, so its icy and conditions are crap. I spend 75% of my time in the park and the other 25% all mountain. I was thinking of getting a 144 stairmaster, because its soft and buttery but still has edge hold due to its camber. now im thinking of either a 147 ultra or a 150 indoor because I think they would be more fun on the flats. I just wish they made smaller indoor because I would buy a 146 or 148 in a heartbeat. What board do you guys think I should get?
Have you considered a Horrorscope? Sounds like a 50 Indoor would be to big, and if your pure park an Ultra would be a good fit. It presses its forgiving and you can still take it anywhere.
yeah i tried a horror and it was a super fun board but a little too noodley and sketchy with all the ice at Mountain Creek.
yea i hear ya, well then my suggestion is a Ultrafear its the Horrorscope chassy but more beefed up and wood core instead of the engineered jib core, so it will hold a better edge, but still have that playful feel i think your looking for.
Why not do what one or two of the smaller Capita flow/am/whatever fellas do, and ride the Saturnia or SMF? Depending on your foot size and the confidence in your masculinity i.e if you'd feel all emasculated riding a girls board like a little boy would.
Plus, with the SMF you get laser cats. Not sure what you get for 2013 SMF though.
yeah I was kinda leaning towards an ultrafear. thanks a lot man. now i just need some money and I'll be all set. and yeah i wouldn't want to be caught riding a girls board. thanks for the suggestion though
Out of curiosity, why wouldn't you want to be seen riding a girls board?
If I was a light short arse with tiny feet I'd be on the SMF. If they made a wider and longer SMF I'd buy that. Because, laser cats.
don't get me wrong. laser cats are cool, but i think melting ladies are cooler. and i have big feet for a short person. I'm all out of proportions haha

I've owned a 49 Horror and a 47 Ultra and never found edge hold to be an issue. I'm 5'10, 150lbs. My buddy rides a 47 Horror and he's 5'9, 165-70. Never an issue with edge hold even on those days were creek is pure ice. Just dont detune your edges.
Anyway, what size boot are you?
I ride an 8.5 or 9. and how did you like the ultra for east coast riding?
Thats the same size boot I run. I was always a 9 but last year I managed to fit in an 8.5 32 TM2 and really happy with it.
Now, that said, I think you'd be wrong to get a 50 Indoor like you were mentioning in the other thread. Even on a 52 Indoor/Outdoor/Greenmachine an 8.5/9 is about as big as you'd ever want to go on it. So a 50 I think would be too narrow.
I would go with a 47 Ultra or a 47 Horror for your size. Neither are going to be a problem with edge hold on ice (just dont detune). They will be loose on the "choppy" stuff since its not camber.
If you want to stick with camber (I'm guess you're been riding camber?) I would go 48 Stairmaster.
yeah im thinking of getting a 147 ultrafear now that i've read all of your responses. the ultra looks like the best park/everything-else board thats fun and forgiving for someone my size. plus its not too big and the graphics are amazing. thanks for all the help guys!
Just kinda curious as to what other people would get.
I've been riding my cambered Midlife 151 for the past couple seasons, but since Capita changed the camber profile, I've narrowed it down to either the Forum Destroyer 152 or Capita SMX 152 as my next go-to deck for the season.
10.5 Nike Kaiju, L/XL Atlas
Would you guys go with the 152 SMX or the 152W?

152, 152W is almost as wide as the 159. 25.2 WW would be fine with 10.5 Boot
Ya that's what I was leaning towards.
I gotta go look at my Capita catalog when I get home, but I'm pretty sure the 152 WW is almost exactly the same as the Midlife's.
ww on 151 midlife camber is 25.00
152 SMX is my favorite graphic/colorway of the line.
BTW, I noticed on my 56 DOA and Gumby's 54 that the production DOA's have the graphic higher up so the face isnt covered by your front binding. Nice production tweak. Pet peeve when "the best part of the graphic" is hidden. ;)

Oh snap. i was thinking the same thing. i'm always bummed when the best part or only part of a graphic is under the binding. and that there 56'ers a good lookin board. more of that the four eyed dog woulda been cool too.
