ooh, me too. i admit that this is one of my half finished books (i think i have about eight right now...), so correct me if i'm wrong here, but i don't remember a charlize theron character in the book? wasn't it just the two guys?

oh my god, we just watched such a great film. it's called 'mary and max'. it's a claymation feature voiced by phillip seymore hoffman, eric bana, toni collette etc and directed by the guy that one the academy award for harvey crumpet. don't know if it's readily available to rent over there but if you can find it it is really well worth it.
midge, i'm quite certain you will love it.

If Boondock Saints II came out in your market everyone should go see it.
If your in the mood to watch something really strange that was rated as "The Worst Made Movie Ever" netflix Manos the Hands of Fate. It's a horror movie that was done by some guy in west texas in the 70's that's dream was to make a movie...It is all locals in the cast and is by far one of the worst movies ever. But it is so bad that it is worth watching. Even the title is band because Manos means Hands so the title really means Hands the Hands of Fate.

saw "Up in the air" and really enjoyed it, no smaltzy happy ending. Wife made me see New Moon and Avatar, hated them, really $300m and that was the best plot they could come up with? Best film I've seen in a while was "Gone baby Gone" loved the book as well, dark and asks questions about what is really morally right and wrong.

I watched it awhile ago. It's quite good. Very bleak and depressing. If you've read that book, you might find the movie a bit weak. I found that the book was far more effective in building the atmosphere. I also preferred the "boy" in the book over the movie. But if you haven't read the book, the movie is great. Just don't expect some happy, shiny, everyone gathers in a circle and laughs at the end kind of movie. :P

slippy - the fawn is good people.
others - glad you all liked dragon...my good friend worked on that. he's an animator at dreamworks. he also did kung fu panda (awesome), monsters vs aliens (meh) and the latest shrek.i liked up in the air. might want to payperview something tonight. maybe the informant or something....
