^ while that looks good it bears no resemblance to the original Django which was amazing! Also I don't think Jamie Foxx is the right choice for that roll. #moviesnob

Saw it last night in 3D. Visually it was incredible. Other than that, while really intense, I still found it kind of boring. I'm really not much of a sci-fi guy though, so take that FWIW.

Poking around the interwebz a little bit and I'm LOL'ing at the rage this movie has instilled in people. I guess people really do need every little thread wrapped up and explained to them for a movie to be enjoyable.

The origins of man theme could have been expanded more. It was used more as a plot device. I can only rate Prometheus as a good movie, but not a great movie.

As for Prometheus, I felt it was stretching it giving David what rudimentary ability to communicate with the Engineers that he had. And even with that ability, I would have been far less satisfied if they rolled in and in the space of what.....48 hours or so, found all the answers to those really huge questions just like that.That said, I kinda have the feeling that all the answers are there somewhere, they just need to be strung together.

The thing about prometheus is that when you try to explain what you didnt like, the entire movie unravels into a mess of bad characters, beautiful imagery and giant plot holes. It really didn't need to be connected to Alien at all.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I believe Ridley Scott tried to do two things with Prometheus. One he wanted some kind of prequel to the Aliens series and at the same time, he wanted Prometheus to be it's own original, stand-alone story. And it ends up being neither here nor there.

Then there are other quotes where he says not at all, or that it shares "DNA", same universe.... he seems to be all over the place.But the "space jockey", and the space ship quite obviously tie the movies together
