Just went to see a local film called Unicorn City. Hilarious film about a real life DnD game. Guy decides to start a LARP utopia in an attempt to land a job with a big gamer firm. I laughed so hard all the way through. I would suggest anyone who has even a sliver of inner nerd go see this if it's playing near you.

I've seen it twice (first time by myself when it came out in the UK, and second with a group of mates this weekend). Not bad, but not great.
It would have been a fairly average film and less enjoyable than Thor, Iron Man (not IM2 because that was a bit poor) and Captain America if it wasn't for Hulk.
While the film had some signposted jokes, nothing made the audience as a whole laugh out loud until a scene with Loki and Hulk. Mark Ruffalo played Bruce Banner so well - the repartee between Banner and Stark was on a par with that between Loki and Hulk - that without such a character and performance the film may otherwise have felt flat.
Hawkeye and Black Widow could have been excluded from the film and it wouldn't have suffered in the slightest.
I thought it was great.

The Hulk/Loki bit was awesome.
The Hawkeye/Black Widow roles.....yeah, you could have removed them I guess. But then you wouldn't get to look at Scarlett Johansson.
I'd pay to see it again in the theater....and probably will.

Oh yes, that was one of the highlights of the movie for me.
Am I the only one who didnt love the movie? Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. Even though they matched the original plot line of the avengers I felt it was a bit corny.
Good movie, but in my opinion a bit too hyped. I guess I'm not a marvel guy, I prefer DC. And on that note, I am stoked for batman this summer.
That got to me a bit as well but I sorta justified it to myself by remembering that scene at the end of the last Hulk movie (with Ed Norton) where he looked to be attempting to control it and that he'd figured it out. Especially when he admitted his secret begin that.......Spoiler

That he was always angry. Perhaps if he embraces it he can control it whereas when it comes on from straight emotion he has less control? I don't know.....made for some great scenes though.
I loved it. May even consider going to see it in the theatre again, and I will definitely purchase it on blu-ray when it comes out.
I disagree about leaving out Hawkeye and Black Widow, but that is partially due to the fact that I like both of the people that played them.
I can see where you're.coming from Paul but its not like they didn't have time or something to explain it. I seems a glaring error in what. An be considered an excellent movie ( in terms of sheer entertainment value)

Some people say the difference when Banner hulked up the second time, he did so on his own terms and the first time he was under some spell from Loki. Remember how he grabbed the septor and didn't even realize it.
But it does seem like a recurring theme in the Hulk movies that he's always out of control at the beginning and under control by the end of the movie and fighting the bad guy.
Yeah I could see that. Plus they said he hadn't had an incident in years plus he showed anger at tits McGee w/o changing but that brings me to another annoyance. It was lokis influence that was makin them argue and I think it should have been made more explicit that it was for the movie goers who don't know Loki can do that stuff

I've seen the avengers 4 time now. Once on opening night with my girlfriend, then once with my family and twice with my friends. Such a tremendous film. However, Batman Begins will always be my favorite superhero film. I liked it even better than The Dark Knight. Can't wait for Dark Knight rises and the ultimate spider man!
