Well Portland is an awesome city! I am off to camp at Hood for the weekend and ride Timberline Saturday and Sunday. Anyone down to shred?

YES!!!!
Check with T-line, but I saw on Tim Windell's FB page that the free lift tickets are legit this SUnday if you have a season pass to any other resort for the 2011-2012 season.

teh Portland threadIt's on T-line's FB page, so it MUST be true! Bring your season pass from your home resort and shred for free this Sunday! Bring your moms. T-line also has dealz on rooms Sunday night.....$75 which is hella cheap for a night's stay at the history Timberline Lodge.....REDRUM!!!!

Sweet! Well I'm in traffic on the way up to Hood. Ill be camping the weekend and possibly staying a night at the lodge. I will be riding tline Saturday and Sunday so if any of you pdxers are around hit me up to play snowboards.

Where are you staying the next two nights?
I HIGHLY suggest you drive from Govy to Hood River and Down the Columbia River Gorge on Monday after the weekend.
Hit up Double Mountain Brewery for delicious beers and pizza, then drive what could be the most beautiful 45 miles of interstate in the country (bias).
Hope to make it UP to T-line on Sunday! More to follow....

teh Portland threadDoing a road-trip of sorts this August with some friends.
Hood River > Bend > Crater Lake > Redwood Natl Forest > Entire 101 Hwy to Astoria > PDX > Hood River.
Going to Camp 1st two nights @ Crater Lake, then hit the Redwoods on our way to where ever we camp on the coast.
Look for tips/advice/experiances with said areas.
Since the entire coast is "public" it sounds like one can camp just about anywhere (outside of city limts)
Any cool campsites/campgrounds on the coast anyone has stayed at?

Just north of Brookings is Harris Beach, a rad place with campsites above the beach = awesome view and walking distance to sandy beach. http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_79.php
Tons of options all up the OR coast. My favorites are Beverly Beach, near Newport, also walking distance to beach, along creek, giant trees, awesome yurts. Cool stuff in Newport too like aquarium, sea loins at Port Dock One (https://plus.google.com/100282268824193972900/about?gl=us&hl=en) shops, etc.

Stop at:
Tillamook cheese factory, do the tour, sample cheese, leave happy.
Tillamook air museum is rad if you have time, you can sit in old planes
Cannon Beach/Haystack rock
Seaside, giant beach, nice place to walk/fly kites/play in sandFort Stevens, outside Astoria is also rad. Huge campground. I think they even have playgrounds for the kids, outdoor nature movies with park rangers, ship wreck on the beach (https://plus.google.com/106125855894150271134/about?gl=us&hl=en).

If its a boys trip then forget the aquarium. Go rafting on the Rogue River or do a jetboat trip. Drive dune buggies on the dunes around Florence. Eat good food.
Samples at Tillamook cheese factory is still a must do.
