Boy and I have a man-date a week from tomorrow at T-line. All are welcome. I will be embarassing/injuring myself in the park followed by (hopefully) drinking some delicious beers ; )
On my drive back across the country, I want to stop and shred in a couple of towns along the way. Is there anything going to be open near Portland in early May?
Mmm Tline sounds like fun. Will there be any nice and cruisy groomers for the GF?
So far I am planning to go to Bend, Eugene, and Portland on my trip back east. I am traveling with my girlfriend, and we plan on riding Mt Bachelor and Tline (Thanks Zapp). Any suggestions on things to do in these areas? We both love beer and good food and good music. Also, if anyone is around and wants to play snowboards, we would love to go riding for the day.

Just north of Redmond (outside of Bend) is Smith Rocks state park, it's a huge rock feature just east of the highway. It's worth the 10 minute drive from the town of Terrebonne to check it out. Amazing landscape there.
South of Bend is Crater Lake national park. It's pretty fuckin amazing. You should also spend a couple extra hours and check that out. The south entrance is open this time of year, north is snowed in until June/July usually.
Tumalo Falls, just outside of Bend, is rad. There are TONS of really good food/beer options to investigate in PDX, probably Bend, too. Lots of farmer's markets, as well.
I'll go ahead and guarantee that you two will love it out here.
Tumalo Falls sounds rad indeed and close to Bend. The plan right now is to drive from Tahoe to Bend, stay in Bend 2 nights, ride Bachelor one day, and day trip to Eugene before spending three days in Portland. I wish we had more time to explore.... This is also a little scouting mission on where to spend next winter...
Don't miss Crater Lake as shralp said, and if you're headed to Eugene, then if possible, drive McKenzie Pass for some real alien scenery and fun driving (if it's open), also consider driving the Mt. Hood loop (PDX -> Hood -> Hood River -> Columbia River Highway -> PDX).

Good call on the Tumalo Falls idea. Fun place to hike and check out water.

Just posted in the beer thread, but again, ESP. since you're going thru Eugene, hit up the Ninkasi Brewery there.
+2 for the Hood loop.
Post up in this thread what days you will be riding Timberline, and maybe some of us can arrange a meat-up.
I will definitely be stopping at Ninkasi Brewery, and I will keep everyone updated on the days that I will be riding. I'm excited to travel through Oregon. Keep the travel ideas coming!

Go to Papa's Soul Food before you go to Ninkasi. They're only a block or so apart. Tactics, which is a huge online store, also has a really cool shop a couple of blocks from Ninkasi.

So we got 7", not bad for end of April, silly work has me missing OUT once again....
I know this is a mountains thread, but I've got a few questions. Looks like a buddy and me are going to head to Oregon for a few days and will be hanging in Portland. Any suggestions on sights to see? I have some info from the beer thread with regards to breweries, but any suggestions?

Luckily we got an email about our bank account right after we crossed the 5 into WA. Would have seriously sucked if they would have cashed our check while we were in Canada. Oh well. I was not looking forward to how expensive the trip would have been anyway.
