Not yet, at least. The Google devices get firmware updates before any other phones.
Also keep in mind there will be more phones coming soon.

thanks. went with the s2. i'm not one to go out and buy a new phone everytime the latest and greatest comes out, just when my current model breaks. this should be good for awhile.
You guys see that Qualcomm has just thrown some cash at BlueStacks? Shit's about to get real up in this bidness.
If I were going to buy a tablet (I probably never will because I'd personally never use one) I would get the Asus EEE Pad. Love the design, love the processor, love the screen, love Asus EEE anything (used to have an EEE PC). It's probably the only tablet out right now that is overengineered based on expectations of what's to come.
The S2 just arrived - holy shit this thing is light! And pretty. Not sure if I should take to Vegas this weekend, or bring the ole Evo in case something happens.
You might as well take it. Just make sure you got it insured.
Considering getting a new phone, but honestly, I haven't been paying a bit of attention to whats good and what isn't on the market right now. I am upgrading from my original HTC Incredible that I have had for 2+ years.
I have loved the phone, except for the battery life and how buggy it can be. I like how easy it is to use, and the size of it is about perfect, but I guess I could accept something bigger if I needed to.
Things that are important to me:
-Picture quality. I use my phone as my camera 99% of the time, and I take a lot of pictures, so picture quality is way up there on the list of importance.
-1080p HD video. I want this in my next phone.
-Battery life, or atleast the option to purchase an extended life battery for the phone. I hate that if I use my phone moderately throughout the day, I WILL have to charge it at some point in order for it to make it the rest of the day until I plug it in at bedtime.
-Simplicity of the user interface. I don't want to have to take a class to learn how to use all the features on my phone, haha. I'm tech savvy, but I don't get nearly as into it as some of you guys do.
Suggestions?
Jen, Samsung Galaxy S3 gets announced on the 3rd May. I'd check that out for 2 reasons:
1) It should be the benchmark for android phones - will have one of the best cameras around and 1080 HD video
2) Even if you don't like it or its more than what you need, plenty other phones will probably come down in price when it goes on sale to attract competition
big day for android in the contra household
mr. contra ordered the asus tf300
mrs. contra is getting a samsung galaxy SII epic 4G touch on the sprint now network
someone teach these non-apple tech companies how to fucking brand shit. ps, the EEE moniker is dead thank god.
Contra event horizon super mega hex core unlimited III never dies
Those tablets are so cool, by the way. I fully expect you to go around whopping iPad doofii (pretty sure that's the plural of doofus) with it.
i'm pretty excited for it. seems like a good combination of price and performance and i like the functionality the keyboard dock can add if i decide to go that route.
What a second, a gadget that an EL member buys and Larry actually approves?
I haven't read anything in this thread because I'm not an android guy but does anyone here have any experience or opinions on the HP Touchpad? You can run Android software on it which is why I ask. I was thinking of possibly picking one up because I can get a pretty good price on it.
i tried to snag one when they were cut to $99. the hardware is supposed to be pretty nice, especially for how cheap they're selling
Waiting for siii release before deciding between that or the note.
My nexus has been strangely shutting down on its own, and not satrting back up. Pretty common issue per google search.
Anyone have experience with the Droid Razr? So far I've heard good things and I'm planning on picking it up tomorrow. This will be my first smartphone, so what are some apps I should get right away?
