Should have... Used 25, just like yesterday, and had the same sun exposure.
Oh well. It's not really badly burnt, it's just red-ish. Maybe I was overdoing my tummy side?

I think most people tend to develop tans on their stomach faster than any other body part, for whatever reason.

More fat underneath than on the back... would explain why my butt was red yesterday ;) And why shins hardly ever tan.

I don't think melanin pigment change works the same way as rotisserie cooking...

"The flat areas of your body have more fat cells, therefore there is more oxidized melanin and you will tan darker on the stomach and back."

A post on Yahoo! Answers isn't exactly credible, especially when it doesn't cite its own sources.

Also, melanin is contained within the skin, not fat (which sits below the skin).

     I miss having a home.
And I hate that I continuously make choices that make me feel restless.

Some people have no common courtesy or manners anymore.

If you go to a movie theater, don't giggle and whisper loudly while the movie is playing.

It's tough to feel sympathy for your world traveling lifestyle, but I feel ya on the restless thing... I'm about to uproot and I'm nervous as hell about it.

I didnt have a home for a long time, then I went home and that didnt feel like home anymore, so I went to my home away from home and now I feel truly at home. true story.

I lived out of boxes, garages, basements, couches, cars, tents, turnouts, mountains, plains, roads, no roads, end of the roads.

Hah, haven't used that name in years, old school shit. But ya, you're right. I'm confident in my choice but it is a very big one and I have A LOT riding on it so the nervous energy is there... as it should be, I think.

I understand that and I am not posting to look for sympathy. It is just honestly emotionally exhausting. I would never take back my experiences of the last years but I am realizing that I am ready to settle somewhere for at least a while now. It actually worries me that I don't even know how to settle in one place.. but that won't be an issue for at least another year.

And don't be nervous. It's good to challenge ourselves :) I am sure you will be doing great!

i would guess it's because their stomachs are much less exposed to sunlight vs. arm, neck, face, etc., and so the effect may just appear more drastic.

i'm not aware of fat cells playing a role in melanin metabolism

My rents dropped a bomb on me sunday. My dad is moving out, they're splitting. I'm 22 and still live at home now this changes everything. My mom doesn't work so wtf is gonna happen with the house? I certainly can't keep up with all the payments. He's gonna continue to pay some of the utilities but that's it. I still haven't accepted the fact this is actually happening. I think it would be different if I was young and had no idea, growing up with one parent would seem normal. Being 22 it's, in my eyes, embarrassing. I know a lot of people go through this but no one i know has. It all sucks.

It's not embarrassing, it's life. However, try to keep up a good relationship with both your parents and don't become the middle man of their problems.

And I am sorry to hear they are splitting up :(

dat bish gotsta get a job.

IMO you're going to need to separate yourself as much as possible from the divorce or you're gonna get dragged through the mud. I've been through my own parent's divorce when i was 13 and my girlfriend's parents who are currently divorcing. They may seem calm and cool right now but once the money split is brought up, it's gonna get real heated real quick. Rarely do these things ever happen amicably, especially when couples are older and have big assets/investments/etc. together.... oh and vibes.

edit: shralp and eva basically covered it. come out west young man.

At court for a pissing in public ticket. Prosecutor took it from a misdemeanor to an infraction for "disturbing the peace". It's a $100 fine, but with fees I guess it comes out to about $500. At least it won't be on any record.

    I had to pee dammit!

If you were younger it would have hit you way harder, potentially messing you up big time. You can make your own choices now and be more neutral than not through the whole process.
