Me and the girl are heading out to Yosemite/Mammoth for 4 or 5 days at the end of August. I'll be sure to snap a bunch of pics for this thread.

My pack is about to get lighter! I was just under 20 lbs on the last trip, fully loaded with food and water. I'm trading in my shitty 5.5 lbs walmart bag for a 1.75 lbs bag that is 25% of the compressed size of the old bag. New bag was just $40 with REI coupon. Stoked on less weight and more space in my pack.
I could see myself packing less food on the next trip and getting my fishing license/packing a pole. Good food that I don't have to carry? Yes please.
Don't know what I was thinking backpacking with a 35+ lbs pack last summer. Uphills were brutal.

Damn, wish I would have seen this. That is my stomping grounds. I know it like the back of my dick.it was a blast. i've got two friends working out in williston, one of whom works at a campground/restaurant just outside of town that's closed sun-wed, so we had the run of the place.
north dakota impressed me, i was expecting more flat/boring, but once we started getting further west, it's some really nice countryside.
summary of trip: canoed around lake sakakawea (ginormous man-made reservoir/lake), made a driftwood catamaran, climbed some bluffs for a gorgeous sunset, had a great time. pictures to come soon.

You're forgiven, one of my hiking buddies swore to me that the mountain we saw just south of Goat Rocks was Hood, I told him no it was Adams, but he insisted. We had to settle the debate with a buddies gps. I should have bet money on it.

Got back from my Highschool reunion/ camping trip with some buddies. A long time friend and I made the 800km trek to the Peace Country to visit families/friends, say goodbye to childhood homes, fish, camp, quadding and drink. We did some quadding on around Peace River. We went to our highschool reunion, a whole 9 people showed up so the party moved to a bush party. Good to see some people after 10 years; the right people were there. We camped at the party spot that night. The next day we drove to Lake Winagami and meet up with a few other buddies from highschool thathad a boat. We stayed there 3 nights and fished and drank all day, everyday. we stayed out till 10pm and then docked and drank by the camp fire. The fishing was awesome. 10 fish minimum per day. I caught 2 57 cm 3.5Ilbs Walleye which we fried up, once right on the boat after we killed it. The biggest Pike I caught was 75cm 5.5Ilbs. We caught a bunch of 55cm Pike and hammer handles. We had a triple header happening. We had a great time all-in-all. Made the long drive back yesterday.

Car camped down in Moab for a friends wedding this weekend. I ditched the tent and slept in the back of the Outback with the tailgate & moonroof open. Radness.
Woke up this morning and brewed myself a coffee overlooking this:

This was the backdrop to their wedding - awesome simple ceremony which started with them riding in together on a tandem bike.
