I used to think that, now I think they're kind of rad. A notchback on Weld Draglites and some fat tires out back is one of those timeless car-wheel combos, like an E46 M3 on LM's or an S13 hatch on staggered TE37's.gerry said:

But notchbacks are lame.
The Lee Iacocca Special is what I would call the ugliest.
Notchbacks are more expensive and less sexy than the lx. If you want the benefit of less weight just pull the spare and back seats. not a huge fan of those rims actually. Cobra rims are wayyyy more sexy. I wouldn't stagger on a foxbody either unless its a strip only car. They handle so so bad with staggered rims. The aod tranny sucks a bunch of power too. Foxbodys may not be beautiful but they are easy and cheap to make fast.
Notchbacks are more expensive? That surprises me, I like the styling better though. I wouldn't be in the market for one any time soon but I love a stout V8.
Bought the truck. Pics coming soon. What crack me up the most though is that everyone I tell about the purchase automatically goes, "Is it that green monster outside?" I guess the truck fits my personality.

It's pretty far past restore. Bought it as a work truck and for dump runs. Going to rattle can it olive drab. Got it for 975$

Agreed, leave it as is. Your not going to improve on the current look.
The Hood has a patina but the rest is rough. We'll see what I come up with. First is the tune up and I think the drive shaft is a little warped. Then onto a set of bigger tires. Thunder decided to help this morning.
It's a 79 F150 with a 351M(kinda crappy) NP435, and NP205. Motor was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago and it's just been sitting on a farm for the last few years. Figured at the very least I could sell the drive train if nothing else and get back at least half of the price.
My dad had a '75 F250 for quite a while when I was growing up. Really love the look of that vintage.
Tinkering around with the notion of picking up a 60's/70's VE Beetle and slamming it, and going for the rusty paint look...
6 hours and 4 U joints later the rear drive shaft is back in and running perfectly. No more vibrations that threaten to rattle the truck apart at 45MPH. And after a 1 day hiatus the fuel gauge has decided to report again.
