You guys were downhill, riding within reasonable limits, and therefore had the right of way. The skier guy is clearly in the wrong. But he's also clearly all hot-headed about "protecting my kids". And nothing turns a person's brain to mush faster then if they feel their kids are somehow threatened. Even if that's only a perceived, and not real threat ("GIVE ME BACK MY SON !!")

People like that who try and "police the world" are like jerks that pull out in front of you when you're driving 10 km over the limit and then slam on the brakes - ".. to teach you a lesson". Yes they're dooshbags. Yes they are wrong. Yes they are a fucking menace to society. But you can't reason with 'em. Props for not getting into a punch-up. I have a feeling if the camera hadn't been rolling, things may have turned out differently.

alpine responsiblity code states that you must yield to those on front of you, regardless of what they are doing. all of the snowboarders were infront of the skiers so as long as they werent doing anything that would harm anybody around them, which they werent, the skiers would have to put up with them

aggro yuppie 40+ skier dads who pick fights are usually compensating for something, i.e. small wang, sex-less marriage, sh!tty job, suck at skiing and see 7 year olds (not their own) who are better skiers, etc... I have never seen one follow through on a threat to anyone that wasn't half their size. Usually their "attacks" come in the form of taking someone out in a premeditated fashion when the victim isn't even looking.

I had a crazy guy try and clip my board just before going off a kicker at Sugar Bowl a few years ago. His reason: I was too close to his kid who was skiing sideways along the trail. Apparently, 20 feet is just TOO CLOSE. He said he knew I was close to his kid because I rode over the kids tracks that had been left 10 seconds prior... WTF EVER NUMBNUTZZZZZZZZ...

I offered to dance with him in the parking lot in front of the entire park staff and he ran away.
