    im pretty sure its basalt fiber, and its a mineral (obviously). saying simply "rocks" makes it sound crazy, yes, because when people think of rocks, they think of... well, rocks. gravel, big stones, etc. thats not whats in the board.

    it would be like saying they put glass in snowboards instead of fiber glass. just "glass" triggers thoughts of windows and things, and that would be crazy to put in a board. and after all, is glass not made from sand, which is also "rocks?"

    I know my rocks. Im doing a geology degree. Basalt is a mafic extrusive igneous rock. Its basically cooled lava. And its not a mineral, but it is made up of many minerals.  

    But if it is a fibre I guess that makes sense.
