I have my own idea. Involves buying a heli-ski operation and setting up a charity. I will tell the entire plan later.

yeah. buy a property in the mountains in BC or alaska, buy myself a snowcat more than likely used, a nice truck, give some to charity, pay any loans my family has and give them some extra cash and pay for my nephews university

That is pretty sick.
My plan like I said was to have a place in the BC interior. Buy or invest in a heli-ski operation. Help out my family; make sure they are all taken care of. Smoke the best herb. Have a place on a sandy tropical beach. Part of the plan was to also meet Brittney Murphy and bring her with me. Get her a great rack. That won't be happening. I'll need to pick another half baked tight little blonde hot peice of ass. (RIP BM) (Don't ask why Brittney Murphy, it was just something about her) Start a charity or two. Definately one for under-privilaged kids that can't afford sports equipment. I would set myself up mice but not crazy extrazagent.
I play the lottery and try not to think about these things or I would die of anticipation waiting for the drawing then die again after I learned I won jack-shit.

i would want to own and run some type of business, but i'm always torn as to what. im usually lean toward bar in some vacation spot, be it the mountains or the beach. i would hire fantastic people and tell them all i want is to break even since i would really just want the business so i'd have something to do. i really feel like traveling and partying your life away would get old... but i would buy modest houses, but like 5 of them. id also set up my family for life and everyone that i consider a friend would get a new car. i've also thought about the fairest way to do that would be they get a brand new version of whatever they drive. i can't buy one friend a benz then another a dodge neon, but i can't buy them all one or the other either...

I would do the whole skateboard, surf, and snowboard all in one day. but then do it everyday. Wake up bright and early to catch some waves, link pow turns all afternoon, mini ramp sessions all night. life would be gooooood.

so if we're talking stupid big like 25 million:
there are two friends of mine who i'd give a million each, about 4 or 5 other people would get 250K, another dozen or so would get something
probably spend a million on the 'rents. well my mom anyway, my dad can go fuck himself.
spend another 5 million or so houses/cars/toys
i would set up 3 funds, 1 million each with semi aggressive investing, and the capital gains would be donated to the respective charities each year
and i would take shits on the desks of branch managers of several banks
and i would sue david suzuki and al gore for their ridiculous fear mongering. the only people that would win are the lawyers but hey, it would be fun.

if were talking millions....
new subaru outback.. only thing id do to it is anything i could do in order to make it as fuel efficient as possible.
modest house in juneau. nothing huge or fancy, just basic and comfortable, with a water view next to the woods. probably as close to the bridge as i could get (on the douglas island side) without being in a normal neighborhood (ive never liked living in neighborhoods). id pick that location because i like douglas, but it would be nice to be very close to stores for food and things, rather than 6 miles from anything like that. its not bad, but it adds up quick.
second small house for rent on the same property, but not in sight of my house.
and i think i would pay for/help my dad to finish up his house remodel that hes doing right now, and buy him a new toyota pickup. might also take care of anything he needs done as far as his boat goes.
i would also pay for/help my mom with her remodel as well. they have a house with a 2 car garage on one end and above that is their master bedroom/bath.. theyre separating it into two apartments i guess.. the two story section is one part, and the rest of the house (the one story part) is another. either that, or i would do the same for their new house in haines that theyre building. i think i would also send her and my step dad on a trip of their choice. something with some awesome nature.
anything that was left, id invest/save.

buy a nice 4x4 tacoma
pay someone to finish school for me
upgrade my fishtank
build a miniramp
snatch up a few houses and employ a couple of my trustworthy friends to work/maintain on them
then id probably sit on the rest for a while

Pay off my house, then expand.
Invest some and start a few innovative companies.
Pow hunt once a week anywhere in the world.
Learn to fly a helicopter/plane, buy one of each.
travel to all the places I have wanted to go.

quit my job
volunteer to help those you need it a couple of days a week
and the rest of the time......go riding (bike and board) and play lots of golf...

depends on what the big win is. i view that as like 100m or more, since uncle sam likes to take a bite
make my mom retire. retire myself. help out family.
buy some land near a mountain tbd (for shred & climb). design & build a house to my specs
get a place somewhere tropical and isolated too
buy a few (4-5) cars
donate a lot annually & volunteer my time to charitable causes
and spend my time exploring the world -

Charity work and careful investing, you have to be really careful with stuff like this, it can get away from you and fuck your life up real bad. Google Jack Whittaker. That said there are a couple of people I would put contracts out on, no joke.

split 3 ways with parents and inlaws. take my third and buy a massive fukking house on lake winnipausake in NH. never work a day in my life again, that includes cutting grass, painting and shoveling.
actually, i'd prob still shovel snow, i enjoy the quiet.
prob get a couple more goldens too.

Good choice on the location. We went there every year for a couple of weeks in August when I was growing up.My wife and I have discussed this from time to time. Just idle dreaming.
Having kids, we would try not to change our lifestyle all that much. We would not want them to grow up to be entitled, arrogant, spoiled, slacker drug addicts.Most of the money would be spread out to family and close friends. Local churches, food pantries, and YMCAs would also get a big chunk.
Our big expenditure would prolly be to buy a slopeside condo.
We would keep enough to pay for kids' college.
We would invest about 2 mil with the idea that the interest could fund vacations and donations to charities.
We would not move out of our house. We are in a great neighborhood for raising the kids.
I would not quit my job as that would set a very poor example for the kids. I enjoy what I do, so I don't think I would change, at least not for a while, like when the boys have moved out.We would probably set up funds for the kids, but would not let them touch the money until they were in their 30's or so.
Boring I know, but there I am.
