Anybody from Canada ever have a Vanilla Lager? I had it at Whistler once, back in 2000, but have never found it ever again. I brewed one years later when I was working at the Goat, lagered the shit out of it in the walk in - best lager I ever made, but still not the same.

Though it's tough to find, Lagunitas New Dog Town Pale Ale is one of the best ales I've had. Lagunitas doesn't even have it on their website but here's a link:

My dad and I actually just had this discussion. I was at the grocery store looking for beer and picked up a case of Firestone DBA. As I was walking away I saw this shit. Usually if I'm in a liquor store and I see something intriguingly weird, I'll buy it and try it just to expand my horizons. So I bought this. I don't like apricots. I don't even like wheat beers (there are a couple exceptions). I popped the top -- it smelled like apricots. I poured it in a glass -- it tasted like fucking apricots. Not a huge fan of the stuff (the case of Firestone is gone but there's still only one bottle missing from this case) but I've gotta give it up to the Pyramid brewers; they balanced the shit out of this beer to a point where it tastes completely natural and unassertive. It's quality shit. The rest is up to preference.contra said: ugh, wheat beer. do you pour it straight into your vagina?

I think the natives of st louis might disagree. As a whole, americans prefer some really shitty beer, i.e. bud, coors light, miller light, etc.
