Werd
Just to put this into perspective, I saw the sky light up while I was at a barbeque...20 miles away.
Bummer for everyone who went. Traffic is fucking awful down there and people camp out all day for that show.
ALL DAMN DAY...had to go when I was a little kid. I'd be pissed to wait all for that!
i was glad to see fed. beat jocko. in the wimbledon semis today. not a great match by any stretch, but with nadal out of the tournament early i didn't anticipate anything earthshaking between these two anyway
how to get a half day off at verizon to see your son in playoff baseball
1 ask your manager
2 ask the manager who's covering for your manager
3 supposedly both above managers contacted the other manager who is covering the weekend
4 get the union involved to contact the managers manager.
5 was told by second manager i had to call weekend manager at 1201 am to ask for half day, and then call at 6 am to actually speak with manager to ask for half day off
6 fucking ridiculous
7 managers manager does not contact union rep. i call him myself.
8 return to garage at 330 pm today. covering manager asks if i heard anything, reply no. covering manager calls weekend manager, weekend manager gets call from next level manager while i'm on speakerphone in office with covering manager and a minute later i get a call from the next level manager saying he talked to the weekend manager to see what he could do.
9 even though i was in the office with the covering manager talking on speakerphone to the weekend manager, the weekend manager decided it was necessary to call me after all this and finally tell me officially i have a half day tomorrow.
yay
Sometimes all it takes is taking the time to help someone with their problems to realize that yours aren't really that signifigant after all. I love my family, f-ing love them, they're great people... but is it sadistic motivation that I don't want to turn out anything like them?
no, it's normal.oakwood-jones said: Sometimes all it takes is taking the time to help someone with their problems to realize that yours aren't really that signifigant after all. One more hour left of work then I'm off for a sixteen day vacation. I can't wait, I haven't had three consecutive days off since March 2011. It will be nice to escape the bubble and be back on the east coast for a couple of weeks.
packing my life into boxes.... AGAIN.
i am so over moving around. i can't wait to be done school and just live at one place for at least 2-3 years again.
but on a happier note: off for 2 weeks in switzerland tomorrow! :)
Completely unproductive today. Just wasting time and it's only making me annoyed. Blah!
Hate to be the one to say it, but that's not true...contra said:

awesome
I do very very little at my internship. I now understand how miserable cubicles are.
Our cubes are arranged in an “open” fashion with 4 ft partitions. So we crack jokes and make fun of people all day.
Cubicles suck when you decorate them. Decorating your cubicle is like forfeiting on life.
The only decorations I had were two rear-view mirrors so I could see if there was someone standing behind me.
Now I'm surrounded by glass and everyone can watch me masturbate.
yeah, cubicles are weird, but they make The Office funnier
do they?youknowlarry said:

Shitty. I have a Chem. Eng. intern working for me and I'm doing my best to give him interesting, valuable stuff to work on. When supervising an intern I really believe it's my job to ensure the the intern leaves stoked on the industry he's been working in. Anything else and his boss just sucks.
