I know Eva and I are always bitching about skool.
So here is a thread to talk about all things education related.
As of now I am trying to finish this case report for a presentation on Thurs.

I enjoy it, atleast compared to all of the crappy not much above minimum wage jobs I have had. it is better when you finally find out what you like to study.
one of the big ups is meeting ladies too.

Even when you find out what you want to study there is still stuff that you have to do that is lame. At least that is how it has been in my experience.
Well, figure since I just graduated, this would be the perfect thread to introduce myself to the EL world...
Work is, well, work, and I miss the atmosphere of college (girls, drinking, etc.), but talking to my brother this weekend made me realize how much I DONT miss the m-word and f-word (they rhyme with midshmerm and rinals)
Also, looking forward to a more regular shred schedule this winter, as my boss doesnt care WHEN I work, so long as I pile in 40 hours/week. I'm thinking 4-10 hour days then whatever day that week looks the best, spend at the hill.
Welcome, ur sn seems typical of a college student.
The job that I am trying to get when I graduate will let me work 4 tens which will be sweet for getting to the mtn. They actually have an 80 hour two week schedule. So I can work 5 tens and then 3 tens the next week. That leaves the trip possibilities endless.
I'm pretty much not giving a fuck about class tomorrow. I have a lot of work I should be doing but I'm having trouble caring about it.

Wizerd to that. My wife does too and now she also has debt for her MBA that she just finished.
The Lounge, TV, facebook, friends...all more important than homework right now.keats0206 said:

A lot of hard work during the day and into the night and all nighters for homework got me here.
I've come to terms with the fact that I will always have debt. Unless, of course, product designers make $200k/year.
stuck at school on october break
i cant think of more of a ghost town right now
Yep. I'm in that boat too, but I do think it was worth it.truckeebread said: i have too much debt
G_hunt and I both take engineering, and it is pretty ridiculous when you spend more time at school than at home.
so this a question more geared towards the people who have graduated college.
how important was your GPA in getting you a job after school compared to let's say internships/connections you have?

A lot of that depends on what field your in. For example, programming is more about experience and what you know, as opposed to your GPA. Most places hiring will weed out the people that are just book smart vs the people that can actually do the job. But really, it depends on what field your in.
I want to go into finance. more specifically private/investment banking.
Business school at McGill is fucking difficult. I just finished my midterms this past friday and have been drunk pretty much the entire weekend. Nothing more needs to be said.

i became a 'taxi' pinball machine expert when i was at uni. they had one in the cafe.
I love school but just dont enjoy the mandatory courses you have to take in order to get a business degree. Mainly stats and algebra. I have been out of high school going on 4 years this year and am doing math I did in grade 11. My school only has 2 business major programs which are Marketing and Accounting or you could just major in business. I already have a diploma in Marketing and the job market around here for marketing is impossible to get into unless you have an insane amount of experience.
I have a crazy drive for school and have been keeping on top of my school work its just when I go into a test or mid term I go completely blank. I think i have ADD

I just two papers and a midterm last week, have one exam this morning, and two more this week.
I fear for my liver this weekend.

In my experience connections are much more important than GPA, at least to a point. I didn't have a great GPA (~3.3), but based on connections/research experience I ended up at a top 15 graduate school.
Plus about being a chem/science major, they pay me to go to school now.
pastaboy said: @squib, i was watching a phillies v dodgers game yesterday. didn't see the end result. how'd it go?
Not sure which game you were watching because I guess there was a tape delay, but there is an 80% the Phillies won. They win that series 4 games to 1. You should know this, futureboy.
Wednesday is game one of the World Series vs the Yankees
EDIT: If it was Game 4, you missed one hell of an ending
