Not to knock it... But I always find it interesting when companies push 2, 3, 4 year warranties as a selling point. It doesn't matter what the product is, the main reason you see a 1 year warranty on just about any product out there is because if there is a legitimate defect in the product, it will be discovered in the first year of the products use. With a 1 year warranty there is zero chance.
Interesting when you tie this into the number of days the average snowboarder gets, i.e. around 6. (From the NYT article)
Most people on here easily get more than that and would discover a defect quickly. The 'average' shredder may need 2 years to get enough days on their board to find a defect.This is exactly why it's wrong to say longer warranties are a gimmick. There have been plenty seasons that I have only got in 6 or 7 days (and had to pay a fortune for flights just to get to that amount) so there is no guarantee I would find defects within the first calendar year of any board. A 2 or 3 year warranty is very valuable imo.
