yup.....the main issue at the moment is that the wordpress / bbpress versions are old and need to be updated....it's gonna take a few weeks at the earliest, but now that I'm back at home after being down in Reno at the NICU with my new baby girl I'll check in more frequently and delete the spammers faster....

no worries....bitching is warranted as it's just been so long since EL has had some real love and direction....I'm in talks with someone / something that would be a great partner.....
in short, if ya didn't care ya wouldn't bitch
hopefully I can get this nailed down and some much needed help on the way

haha....yeah it suddenly dawned on me that we should be perma banning the IP addresses that they're coming from....do you know how to do that??

who the hell would be against banning a spammer??? I mean I understand the issues raised with banning a legit user - regardless of how much of a fucktard they're acting like - but spam????
Ban those IP addresses away Parker (I had just forgot that feature in the "ban plus" section of the mod tools).
It'll solve a lot of problems IMO as I'm sure several of these bogus accounts being made are coming from the same IP.....let alone send a clear message until we get a software update in here that the shenanigans are over

Don't you remember when EL first launched and we tried to ban IP Addresses that it would ban way more than the offender....? Apparently that got fixed... let the banning commence. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, cuz i'm banning every spammer up in herrrr

hmmmmmm....but that was a few software versions ago ya know? I clearly don't remember it being as simple / integrated as it is now. I mean you try the next one that pops up but all that I did was click on the actual IP address that you should be able to see in whatever the post / thread that the spammer posts in......that popped up the mod section.....I moused over the IP address in the upper right and copied it.....then went down the left hand side of the menu to the "Ban Plus" section and clicked on that.....clicked up above "Ban IP" and copied the address in there and fired away.....
I don't remember it at all being like that in the beginning.....and I thought this was a new feature in the latest version we upgraded to now quite a while ago? I should ask Lars as I'm reaching out to him for some upgrade help anyways....
